Labor unions

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in 2025:

• 10% of U.S. workers were union members, down from 20.1% in 1983.
• 32.9% of public sector workers and 5.9% of private-sector workers were union members.
• Union members earned about 19% higher median weekly earnings than nonunion workers.
